I work with a large number of people who have never been in therapy before, so I want to take you through my approach and what to expect.
At your first appointment, I will have you complete some paperwork (this can be emailed to you prior to your first appointment or completed on site) and I will review it with you. The main goal of our first session is for me to understand what has brought you to therapy and to begin to learn about you as an Individual. Together, we will figure out what works best for you. At future sessions, I will tailor each one to your specific needs and personality. I will also ask for feedback from you to make sure we are both on the same track. We will monitor progress and make changes as needed.
I use a variety of techniques and theories to guide my work with you. I believe there are two experts in the room: You are the expert of your life and I am the clinical expert.
